I remember being asked this question as a child "Who do you want to be when you grow up?" Depending on what I'd been reading or watching on television it could vary between being a doctor, teacher or even an astronaut. When I got a little older I would think about what subjects I needed to take at school, what grades I needed to accomplish to get into university but at no time did I actually think about the qualities I would need to be successful in any role. In other words, who did I need to be to fulfil these roles? As David Neagle says "If you are getting a result in your life that you do not like it is fruitless to change what you are doing, it is IMPERATIVE that you change who you are being!" So what qualities would you like to enhance in yourself? I saw enhance because we all possess so many wonderful qualities but we don't always use them to their fullest or even recognise that we have them. If it helps imagine that there is a group of people talking about you, what would you like them to say? Forget about any gossip that leaps to mind - what would you love them to say about you? "What would you attempt to do if you knew you would not fail?" This is a quote by Robert H Schuller, and one of my personal favourites. What is it that you would really, really love to do, even if it doesn't seem possible to you right now? Let's challenge any limits that you are imposing on yourself right now. So this week think about who you would love to be, what things you would love to do, and what you would love to have.
