I was reading a Star Wars book the other day (one of the later ones) and for the Jedi to succeed in their mission they each had to choose something to give up for their mission to be successful. Some gave up pride or fear and others gave up that what they did always had to be right. What are you willing to give up for who you need to be to become successful? Yes there are skills you may need to acquire to be successful but there are also things that you will need to give up such as fears or attitudes that hold you back. You may have to give up friends who hold you back, and by that I don't mean just cut them out of your life but possibly spend less time with them or have something to boost your attitude after you've been around them. You'll have to give up any excuses that you use. Some of my old personal favourite excuses are * I don't have the time to.... * I can't afford..... * I don't know how... To counteract the excuses you can change them to * If I don't have time now when will I have time? It's the one thing I can't get back. * Rather than say I can't afford think how can I afford it? That way your mind opens up to possibility. * I don't know how but I can find out! The excuses come from an attitude of a person who is not in control of their life and so is not accepting responsibility for it. When you accept 100% responsibility for your life then it will transform. So this week work out what you are willing to give up to achieve the success you deserve.
